Open Modules on Sustainability
As part of the Global Media Fest’s dedication to promoting sustainability across cultures and communities, we have designed Open Course Modules to accompany several of our screenings and discussions. These modules are free to all instructors and can be modified or adapted to fit a variety of student levels. Each module introduces students to international issues related to sustainability in literature, art, and film. Along with learning about global sustainability issues, students learn to analyze media discourses on sustainability from different perspectives and to draw cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary comparisons. Activities and assignments include guided class discussion, presentations, service-learning projects, essays, and media projects, among others.
